Big thanks to Nola band Big Sam’s Funk Nation for lighting up Salida’s Riverside Park Saturday night of FIBArk, 2022! Kept the crowds there dancing in spite of the downpour we so desperately needed. (Evidently we needed to dance too!)
Tonight’s full moon, called the Wolf Moon, will be visible shortly after sundown. It’s a good night to get out there in the hills and ski by snow-reflected moonlight, no headlamps required.
About 100 straight south of Salida, CO, stands the shell of what was once a mission church at Las Mesitas, Colorado....
This juvenile moose created quite a stir last week when he pranced into downtown Salida, briefly chased some fool who tried to approach him, and then slipped into the Arkansas River for a quick dip before moseying out of town into the Arkansas hills.
