Salida’s local photographer and filmmaker Bill Donovan captured this drone shot of Salida’s smelter dusted in snow. We’re slated to get a bit more of the white stuff Wednesday night, but fingers crossed most of it falls up at Monarch Ski Area!
Low Water Rescue!
The Arkansas River is running between 300 and 400 csf these days, which is exceptionally low for this time of year. This family float needed a little help from a bystander getting across the rocks and into the current at The Drift In. Local experts say that even with the low water conditions, the river should be able to maintain flows of around 300 csf throughout the rafting season.
