Cairn Alert!

You can catch Cairns on Colorado Hiking Trails.

A cairn is a human-made stack or pile of rocks used as a marker or sign. In Colorado, you see them on trails where they typically mark an ambiguous section, letting fellow hikers know which way to go. Scottish Gaelic in origin, prehistoric cairns were often raised as memorials and burial monuments. This one was recently spotted on the island of Puerto Rico and we think it means “this way to the sea,” in case you’re prone to overlooking the obvious.
