Small Town Feel
In order to help preserve the small town character and affordability of our sweet mountain town (ahem–no thanks, gentrification!), we only manage vacation rentals in homes that are not well-suited for long-term, affordable housing, for one reason or another.
Our homes’ guestbooks ensure guests get connected with the local businesses that make Salida such a unique and vibrant town.

Trails, shops, galleries, river sports, skiing, music, festivals… There’s a good reason this place is called “The Heart of the Rockies.” (Er, about a million good reasons!)

Wildflowers in Colorado!
The end of their life is when you can harvest their seeds, but hold off planting them until early spring (or as late as midsummer). If you have a lawn in Colorado, please consider letting it die and replacing it with these beauties that require almost no water, and they keep the local bees healthy and happy!
Moth Storytelling in Salida, CO!
Live story slam this weekend in lil ole S-Town!! That’s right, the folks over at A Church are bringing a taste of east coast storytelling to our beloved mountain town of Salida, CO.
The event is one of many such storytelling events spinning out of New York City based nonprofit, the Moth, which was founded in 1997 by poet and novelist George Dawes Green.
Fall colors in Salida and thereabouts…
Aspens up high are just starting to turn and should peak this weekend-ish. In the meantime, enjoy the gorgeous yellow blossoming of the chamisa, also known as gray rabbitbrush. Just love how it makes this graffiti along the South Ark pop!
