River Swimming Hole and Natural Waterslide!
Just 1.7 miles from SipapuSki area is a hidden gem of a swimming spot in the Rio del Pueblo, which empties into the Rio Grande just south of the Taos Gorge.
Live Theater is BACK in Salida, thanks to Sventastik Productions!
Into the Woods was an ambitious choice for a premier, and Salida’s new theater troupe, Sventastik, nailed it! Next up they’ll bring The Little Mermaid to the Steamplant stage. Can’t wait to see all the magic this impressive group throws down. So fun to see so many locals cast in unpredictable roles!
Gothic, CO – ghost town turned climate research station
The gorgeous little ghost town of Gothic was named for the rocky spires that overlook the town like so many medieval church towers. The town has a handful of hearty, year-round residents, but in the summer it is mostly populated by climate researchers and hikers heading up into the Maroon Bells Wilderness area.
4th of July Festivities in Salida, Colorado
S-Town was able to shoot fireworks from the top of S Mountain to punctuate their day-long celebration in Riverside Park! Big thanks to the fire department for putting on that show, as well as the performers who entertained us all day long. In the weeks ahead, don’t forget to head down to Riverside Park every Thursday evening for free concerts by a variety of great local bands. See you there!

The lovely Fairview Cemetery on the edge of Salida, Colorado. You can get there from Airport Road (CR 140) or Crestone Avenue (CR 160).
Kingcup cactus flowers are in bloom!
If you’re out riding or hiking the trails of central Colorado in the next several days, you’re likely to see these gorgeous blossoms on the Kingcup cactus, also called the claret cup cactus. Get out there because these blossoms go by quickly, typically only lasting a couple of weeks at most.

Bishop Castle is located in the Wet Mountains, about 30 miles outside the equally bizarre and beautiful little town of WestCliffe, Colorado, and about an hour away from Sailda, CO.
